Kestrel Lodge Camping is an old 18th century farm located at the most amazing and scenic locations in Lake district. It is a quiet and family friendly campsite suitable for tents and trailer tents. It has modern shower facilities and is located in a very accessible yet a beautifully quiet corner of the National Park.
Situated in an enviable location below Skiddaw with mind blowing views across the valley to Bassenthwaite Lake. The campsite is nearby to some of the best fell walking routes in UK. It is an ideal base for exploring the Lakeland and Northern Fells.
Keswick and Cockermouth are within a short 15 minutes drive. There are quite a few shops, cafes, restaurants and other activities nearby. The nearest village is the Bassenthwaite, whichs is also a short walk away and has a fantastic local pub serving hot food and traditional ale.
The campsite offers grassy pitches forming beautiful vistas across the adjacent fields over the rising and falling hills and vast woodlands. Kestral Lodge is all about peace and tranquility. It offers best of both – a remote location as well as being easily accessible and close to various interesting amenities.
The owners Louise Smith and Andrea Bramhall are friendly and welcoming and being locals they are happy to point you in the direction of each of the nine Wainwrights walking distance from the campsite as well as to the nearest pub.
