Park Cliffe is in a world of its own, with absolutely stunning views over Lake Windermere and the fells and mountains beyond.
An abundance of wildlife such as squirrels, roe and red deer, foxes and birds surround the site, in fact, such are its environmental credentials that TV botanist David Bellamy has presented the site with his prestigious Gold Conservation Award for their work in protecting the natural environment. They also hold a 5 star rating and a Gold Award from Visit England.
Most touring pitches have views of Moorhow (a relatively small hill by local standards! Offering spectacular views over Lake Windermere and to the Langdales beyond) and many pitches have electric hook-up available (bring your own leads), though please be aware that awning/tent pegs suitable for hard ground are required.
Tent camping pitches are set across two areas: Ghyllside and Fellside. Pitches in Ghyllside are best suited to larger tents and can be reserved with electrical hook-up. Pitches are allocated by tent size, so please specify when enquiring. Fellside has undulating slopes and you are free to pitch where you choose. This area offers superb views towards Langdale Pikes and across to Coniston Old Man.
The site also has four private bathrooms for hire. The height of luxury!
In addition to the camping and touring facilities, there are twelve heated and sheep-wool insulated camping pods which provide ample space for two adults and up to three children. The pods have carpeted floors, socket electricity and a decked area out front. Five standard, five family pods and two premier pods are available.
The use of airbeds is recommended in the standard and family pods, while premier pods come equipped with a double bed, bunks and a trundle bed (bedding not provided).
Finally there are three spacious, fully furnished and well equipped static caravans for hire.
